Who We Are - Pine Tree Chapter
OUR COMMUNITY:
Encompassing Penobscot, Piscataquis, Washington, Aroostook, Waldo,Hancock, and Knox counties we are geographically the second largest Red Cross chapter in the country. Our offices in Bangor, Caribou, Rockland and Ellsworth support a network of volunteers throughout our chapter communities. These volunteers work with their neighbors to spread messages of preparedness and ensure Red Cross services are available to all.
OUR WORK:
Last year alone, more than 190 silent heroes helped our neighbors by volunteering their time in support of the efforts of the Pine Tree Chapter. 8,886 individuals took the time to learn lifesaving skills such as first aid, CPR, and defibrillator use. Many individuals learned how to protect their families from fires, winter storms, and other disasters.
Emergency Services opened 143 cases. 6 were multi family cases. 150 famlies received assistance 375 people were helped. In addition to First Aid and CPR classes 1,912 people participated in lifeguarding and swimming instruction, and 246 learned Babysitting Skills.
Armed Forces Emergency Services opened 309 cases.
296 Communities were Served.
However hard we work to prepare, many will still need our help.
